Christmas Tree Decorating Tips

Decorating a Christmas tree is a lot of fun. This is an experience you should do together as a family because it is time well spent and everyone likes to take part in this activity. When you decorate the tree this year there are a few things you can do to be sure your tree doesn’t look funny. Here are a few simple decorating tips that can help you with a nicer looking tree than you had last year.

1. Choose a theme. Many people have a tree that looks like a mess because they don’t choose a theme. A theme doesn’t have to be German or Scooby Doo but everything should look good together. A theme consists of a good color scheme that works well together. For example, you might decide on red and gold or silver and blue. Don’t just throw everything on the tree and hope it works. Some things you used last year might not look so good on the schemes you have this year. Some people choose a cowboy theme or a theme consisting of toy soldiers and things. Be sure everything goes well together.

2. If you have an artificial Christmas tree and you plan on using tinsel be sure to spread it out evenly around the tree. Clumps of tinsel look hideous. Tinsel can look nice if you take your time and lay it by the strand around the tree. You might consider avoiding the tinsel because it may not go with the color scheme you have chosen either. Tinsel is only messy and something that makes a cat want to attack the tree.

3. Artificial garlands are out. These were used back in the 70s and the 80s but they are no longer used anymore. Don’t put these on your tree unless you have one that you think is super classy or really does look good. Garland doesn’t look great on trees so you are best off not using it.

4. Only go with the flocked tree look when it looks good. You don’t want to ever think about flocking lighted palm trees because it would look ridiculous. It doesn’t snow where palm trees grow and it isn’t natural. The purpose of a flocked tree is for the tree to give you the feeling of a winter wonderland in the mountains. Be realistic with your choices and flocking.

5. Personalize your tree with taste. You can have a classy tree and still add certain personalized things you might have over the years or passed on from different generations. This adds a nice touch and makes your tree more personal and meaningful to the family.

When you decorate the Christmas tree at home this year there are a few things to consider so you have a nice looking tree. Be sure not to make the tree look ridiculous or let the kids throw clumps of tinsel all over the tree. If you can, avoid using garland because this style is out. Personalize your tree and try and go with a theme and a color scheme that match.

Christmas Trees Tips

The Christmas holiday is a wonderful time of year and the tree is the widest known symbol of the season. When you get a tree, it is important to consider many things so you have the perfect one and it looks great. These things include the size, fresh, the look, and more.

The size of the tree is very important when you are hunting for Christmas trees. You need to be sure you have the right space in your home so you don’t buy a tree that is far too big. You also don’t want a tree that is too small or it will look funny. Decide where in your home you want to put the tree first. If you have to make a place for the tree then do this first. Then, measure the area width and height. This way, when you pick out your tree you will know you have plenty of space by measuring the tree before you buy it. The only time this doesn’t really matter is if you are willing to do a little trimming to the tree to make it work. Some people find the tree they love the most and know they have to cut it down a bit.

If you have a natural tree it is important to maintain a healthy tree. The best thing to do is buy a healthy tree from the lot. You don’t want to buy a tree that is already starting to dry out. This can be difficult to bring back the freshness. Pull on the tree limb and see if any needles come off easily. This is the easiest way to tell if a tree is dry. If the needles come off in your hand you will find the tree is dry. Don’t buy a dry tree. It makes for a mess in your home and it can be a fire hazard too.

Artificial Christmas trees always look fresh. However, these types of trees you struggle with the task of making them look natural. When you put the pieces together you will need to fold out each limb on the tree. Each limb will require you to unfold the branches and scatter them about. As you pull them out you control how real the tree looks. When branches are bent unrealistically it is obvious. Spread out the branches so the tree holds a natural shape of a tree. Once it is decorated with the lights and ornaments no one will be able to tell you bought one of the artificial Christmas trees.

Trees are important to have and decorate during the holiday season for many reasons. You should be sure to measure the space in your home so your experience is not troublesome because of a tree that doesn’t fit in the space you have chosen in your home. You also want the freshest tree possible so it lives until the end of the holiday. A fake tree might be your solution because you can make it look natural.
